FAQ
Â
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions take place outdoors in Portland-area parks and natural spaces. We’ll provide specific locations and parking details after registration.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We run sessions in most weather (rain is part of nature play!). If conditions are unsafe—such as high winds, poor air quality, or lightning—we’ll notify you via Spruce with cancellation or rescheduling info.
How long is each group or session?
Most groups run for a 10-week season, with each session lasting 75–90 minutes. Mini Groups are around 5 sessions. Individual sessions are scheduled separately and typically last 50 minutes.
What’s the difference between therapy groups and social groups?
Our therapy groups are billed as occupational therapy and include goal-setting and direct documentation. Our social groups are run by OTs but focus on co-regulation, movement, and connection in a more playful, flexible format. Both include strong therapeutic support!
Do you take insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider. Families pay upfront and receive a superbill upon request that they can submit to their insurance for possible reimbursement.
How do I know which program is right for my child?
After submitting your inquiry form, we’ll review your responses and reach out to schedule a brief call to match you with the best-fit therapist or group.
Can my child attend more than one group or session?
Yes! If it’s a good fit developmentally and scheduling allows, some families choose to enroll in multiple offerings to build consistency and support.
What should my child bring to group?
We’ll send a full packing list after registration, but basics include weather-appropriate clothing, water, a snack, and any necessary medications or medical info.
